JK: Govt sanctions 10.15 cr for agriculture dvpt
Srinagar, Feb 20: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has sanctioned Rs 10.15 crore aid for agriculture and allied services in Pulwama district under district plan for the year 2006-07, an official said.
He said an expenditure to the tune of Rs 6.40 crore has been incurred an these services till January 2007.
This included Rs 77.35 lakh an agriculture, Rs 156 lakh an T&V, Rs 81.32 lakh for horticulture, Rs 94.21 lakh an animal husbandry and Rs 127.48 lakh an minor irrigation.
He said that 55,000 hectares of land has been brought under high yielding varieties during Khariff season and 36,900 hectares under rabi crops during the current fiscal.
On the achievements in sheep husbandry sector, he said that out of 2.60 lakh total sheep, population two lakh is cross breed variety.
