Indo-Pak Parliamentarians Forum calls for common approach on terro

New Delhi, Feb 20 (UNI) The India-Pakistan Forum of Parliamentarians today said the common grief over the Samjhauta Express tragedy may help both countries in developing a common approach for furthering mutual understanding to tackle problems and march forward together.

A Joint Statement issued by the Forum said the Forum expected the leaders of both countries to realise the necessity of making headway in finding solutions to the long-pending problems for lasting peace.

Strongly condemning the blast in the Sammjhauta Express on February 18-19 night in which 67 people were killed and 12 injured, the Forum said the timing and the target of the blasts suggested that the perpetrators of the crime were working against the improvement in India-Pakistan relations and increasing contacts of the public across the border.

It said the aim of such crime should never succeed and the India-Pakistan dialogue process must continue.

''Unlike in the past, this time there is no outcry for the stoppage of the dialogue process. The people of both countries have shown maturity in condemning this violence in one voice,'' it added.
