CBI inquiry ordered into Abhishek Mishra's death

Ranchi, Feb 20 (UNI) The Jharkhand High Court today ordered CBI inquiry into the death of Abhishek Mishra, whose body was found at Dassam Falls a day after he, along with his friends including Railway Minister Lalu Prasad's daughter, went for picnic there in December.

A division bench comprising Justice Muthuswamy Karpagyavinaygam and Justice Permod Kohli asked the state government to stop its investigations and hand over the case to the CBI.

Initially, the state police termed the case as ''accident'', but Abhishek's father Dr S Mishra, working with Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital in New Delhi, wrote a letter to the High Court in this regard.

The court took suo motu cognisance of the matter and asked the state government to submit the case diary.

Abhishek's body was found on December 9 near the falls. He went there along with his friends, including Ragini, daughter of the Railway Minister, for a picnic the previous day.
