BYOFF-2007 film festival kicks off in Puri

Bhubaneswar, Feb 20 (UNI) The stage had been set on the sylvan beaches of Puri to welcome the filmmakers and movie buffs to witness the fourth edition of Bring Your Own Film Festival-2007 (BYOFF).

The five day mega event being organised in collaboration with INSCREEN, the premier film society of the state based at Bhubaneswar will be held from February 21 to 25 and screen over 120 films of different genres and durations.

A BYOFF release issued here today said there would be no jury, no selection and no awards for the films to be screened in the event and anyone who had a film could showcase it in the event.

It said over 100 filmmakers across the country and abroad have already sent in their entries.

The BYOFF-2007 would be more than just a film festival and one can sing, dance, showcase his paintings, sculptures and photographs, present enactments, discuss ideas, share thoughts and experiences.

Besides, the facilities for screening of films, BYOFF had made separate platform for the filmakers to showcase their products for prospective buyers.

The offer would be open to the filmmakers who would screen their films or have done so at the previous BYOFFs, the release said.
