Achuthanandan condoles the death of Chittabrata

Thiruvananthapuram, Feb 20 (UNI) Kerala Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan condoled the death of CITU All India General Secretary and Communist Party of India(Marxist) senior Polit Bureau member Chittabrata Mazumdar, who died in a nursing home at Kolkata today.

In a condolence message, he said the death of Mr Mazumdar was a great loss to the Left movement, particularly to the working class in the country.

Mr Achuthanandan said he had played a great role in organising working class and developing agitations against the globalisation of imperialistic forces and liberalisation polices.

In another condolence message, Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan said, Mr Mazumdar was an exemplary leader of the working class. His role as the CITU General Secretary would always be a worthwhile example to others, Mr Balakrishnan added.
