259 held for sale of lottery tickets in TN

Chennai, Feb 20 (UNI) In an special drive against sale of banned lottery tickets, police today arrested 259 persons all over the state and seized 29,670 lottery tickets and Rs 12,788 from them.

In a press release here, State DGP D Mukherjee said cases had been registered against them.

He warned those smuggling the lottery tickets from neighbouring states and selling them in Tamil Nadu and others involved in the trade of severe action.

The drive against the sale of banned lottery tickets would continue, he added.
