Varanasi, Feb 19 (UNI) After the much-touted visit of the Bachchan family to this holy city, Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi along with his family arrived here last evening to perform the ''shraddh'' of his grand-parents.

The Oberoi clan, which included Vivek, his cine-star father Suresh Oberoi, mother Yashodhra and singer sister Meghna, landed in the city last evening and immediately went to the Assi Ghat on the banks of the Ganga river. They later participated in the celestial 'Ganga Arti' at the Daswhashamedh Ghat.

Meanwhile, the actor was shuddered to know the temple he was offering prayers at here early today was rocked by a powerful blast on March 7, 2006.

''Unhone ne is pavitra mandir ko bhi nahi chora'' (the terrorist did not even spare this sacred temple), was the reply of the 'Sathiyaa' star, who was once linked to Aishwariya Rai.

Interestingly, the entire Bachchan family accompanied by would be daughter-in-law Aishwariya had also participated in the Mangala Arti at the Kashi Vishwanath temple on November 27 last and offered prayers at the Sankatmochan temple.

Vivek, however, steered clear of any media queries by only saying ''this maiden visit to Kashi has been memorable.'' UNI
