New Delhi, Feb 19: Accusing the UPA government of maintaining a 'soft attitude' towards terrorism, leading to recurring incidents like the blasts in the Samjhauta Express, the BJP today demanded implementation of strigent laws to tackle such attacks in the country.

Strongly condemning the blasts, BJP president Rajnath Singh asked the UPA government to build up ''diplomatic pressure'' on Pakistan to end its support to terrorist groups operating in India and adhere to the promises made by its President Pervez Musharraf that his country will not allow its territory to be used by by any terror groups.

Mr Singh, who constituted a three-member team headed by deputy leader of the BJP in Lok Sabha Vijay Kumar Malhotra, to look into the incident, asked the government to come out with an anti-terror law to deal with the situation.

''If they have aversion to POTA, let them come out with a different name. We will extend our support in Parliament,'' he said.

BJP Vice President Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi and former Delhi Chief Minister Sahib Singh Verma have been appointed to visit the blast site and submit their report to the party.

He said recent reports indicate the involement of terrorist groups making inroads into stock exchanges and added a law needs to be enacted to check and control money supply to terror operators in the country.

Pointing to the delay in execution of Mohammad Afzal Guru found guilty by the Apex Court, the BJP President said Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and his colleagues had spoken about tracking and punishing the culprits of the blasts on Samjhauta Express forgetting that the government was yet to implement the judgement in the 2002 Parliament attack case.

He also offered the party's sympathy to the families of victims killed in the blasts.
