Two women congress presidents, 3 police women injured in scuffle
Ranchi, Feb 19 (UNI) Many activists of women Congress, including two district presidents and three policewomen, were injured this evening during a scuffle when the activists tried to lock up an office in the city here.
Women unit of state Congress president Pratibha Pandey told UNI that despite a change of governmnet in Jharkhand many boards were run by the previous NDA government's nominees against which they were agitating.
As they were protesting in front of Ranchi Regional Development Authority (RRDA), police intervened leading to a scuffle between the two sides.
She cliamed police used lathi to disperse the agitating members in which Palamu district president Sanyukta Singh, Deoghar district president Manorama Singh and many women were injured.
Both were admitted to Ranchi Medical College Hospital.
Superintendent of Police Manvinder Singh Bhatia countered the allegation and said police did not resort to lathi charge.
