Tribute to Samjhauta Express victims through sand art

Puri, Feb 19 (UNI) Internationally acclaimed sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik today created a sand image at sprawling beach here to pay tribute to the innocent people, who lost their lives in the blast in Samjhauta Express early this morning.

With a massage to the world, ''Terrorism has no place in territory of Humanity'', Mr Pattnaik and the students of his golden sand art institute creating a ten-ft-long train using colour sand on the sculpture.

'' Condemn Terrorism Strengthen Friendship '' was his slogan on the sand art that attracted thousands of tourists, who congregated at the sand art venue to offer their tribute. Mr Pattnaik said the blast in The Samjhauta Express was intended to damage the peace process between two countries.

The sand sculpture through his art had paid tribute to the tsunami victims and Earth quick victims of India and Mumbai train blast victims.

He had also created sand art to save the endangered Olive Ridley Turtles and spread awareness of the dangers of HIV-AIDS and polio.

Sudarsan Pattnaik has so far participated in more than 32 International sand sculpture championships across the world and won many awards for the country.
