Tata AutoComp GY Batteries launches 'Tata Green' in Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad, Feb 19 (UNI) Tata AutoComp GY Batteries Private Limited (TAGYBPL), the 50:50 joint venture between Tata AutoComp Systems and Japanese battery producer giant 'GS Yuasa International', has launched 'Tata Green', a new range of car batteries.

Yogesh Dhawan, CEO, TAGYBPL, told mediapersons here today that the 'Tata Green', a range of environment-friendly car batteries, will revolutionise the Indian Automotive market.

Mr Dhawan said, with this launch, the Company reinforces its position as a prominent player in the automotive industry significantly. The initiative also marks the groups' first foray into the automotive retail business.

He said, the Company's state-of-the-art facility in Pune and Maharashtra will manufacture 'Tata Green' batteries, initially for passenger cars and utility vehicles. Later this year the TAGYBPL will also launch batteries for commercial vehicles, farm vehicles and two-wheelers.

The CEO said, the advanced technology from the company ensures that 'Tata Green' batteries do not require top-ups or even maintenance for the first 100,000 Kms. The distinctive design of calcium-calcium battery minimizes water loss, reduces self-discharge, increases storage time and provides best protection from acid spillage and sparks.
