The 2nd Additional Munsif Judicial Magistrate's direction came on a case filed by the State Forest Corporation (SFC).

The Magistrate has directed the Parimpora police station to take into custody the vehicle which belongs to Security Wing of the J&K Police.

The vehicle was seized by locals at Ganderbal alongwith illegal timber in January. It was later handed over to Forest Protection Force (FPF).

It is being alleged that security force and police vehicles are being used to smuggle timber in the Kashmir valley.

Police have seized illegal timber worth lakhs of Rupees and arrested about a dozen smugglers in the valley during the past three months.
