Shivjayanti celebrated with enthusism In Kolhapur

Kolhapur, Feb 19 (UNI) The Great Maratha warrior, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's birth anniversary, was celebrated with enthusiasm and customary colour here today.

The statues of Shivaji Maharaj were garlanded at various places in the city by senior citizens and also by Kolhapur Mayor Sai Kharade.

Tarun Mandals organised puja of the statues of Shivaji and performed historical ballad in various points in the city.

Earlier in the day, various mandals brought 'Shiv-jyoti' from Panhala fort and other places in the city to mark the day.

Later, Shivaji Tarun Mandal took out a big procession with bullock-carts, horses highlighting the Shivaji Maharaj portrait and his works banners and paintings, which marched in the city's main routes.

UNI
