Sexual abuse of school students in Nasirabad cause stir

Ajmer, Feb 19 (UNI) The police have arrested a local painter and a school student in connection with the sexual abuse of students of Central School, Nasirabad in Ajmer district.

Sexual abuse of three girls and five boys of the school situated in Army cantonment in Nasirabad, had come to light. Police have arrested Shyam Sundar Gupta and Rohit Saini and are investigating the case under Section 377.

In another related case, Ashish Rana, son of a Army Major and his friends have been accused of secretly clicking obscene pictures of girl students and blackmailing them.

The scandal of sexual harrasment and abuse of the students had first come to light in December last year. School's principal Vijaylaxmi Nagar said the school had lodged a case against Ashish Rana, son of Major R B Rana and his friends Mukesh and Azgar at Nasirabad police station on December 13.

However, she alleged that the police brushed the case under the carpet and Ashish was allowed to flee Nasirabad.

Only after a Brigadier's intervention in the case, the police was forced to investigate the case. After investigations and complaints by three students, the police arrested Shyam Sundar and Saini, 14 yesterday.

Police sources say Rohit used to take students to Shyam Sundar's shop for cigarettes and other drugs where they used to sexually abuse them.

In the case of blackmailing of girl students by clicking their nude pictures, the police have not lodged any case as no girl students have come forward to become a witness.

Ms Nagar, however, says the police is trying to suppress the case and the role of deputy Superintendent of police (Rural) Sharad Chaudhary is under suspicion.

Chaudhary had misbehaved with mediapersons and has threatened her and students not to fan the case, Ms Nagar said.

According to the case, Ashish and his friends used to take girls to restaurants in Nasirabad and Ajmer, clicked their obscene pictures and later blackmailed them.

The Army had conducted an inquiry at their level and asked Major Rana to leave the cantonment. Major Rana has now been posted in Kashmir.
