Robbers loot temple, booty worth Rs 40,000 looted
Anand, Feb 19 (UNI) A gang of 15 robbers today looted a temple after attacking five persons at village Vaghasi, five km away from Anand, and decamped with booty worth Rs 40,000.
Police said the robbers entered the Bhootnath Mahadev Temple, located on the national highway number eight, at 0200 hrs and allegedly attacked the five persons, sleeping there, with sticks and stones, injuring one seriously.
The robbers locked the five persons in a room and then threatened the temple priest to hand over the cash and jewellery worth Rs 40,000, before fleeing from the scene.
The seriously injured has been admitted to the civil hospital at Anand, where his condition is said to be stable.
No arrest has been made so far in this connection, police added.
