Pak PM telephones PM on Samjhauta blast

New Delhi, Feb 19 (UNI) Prime Minister Manmohan Singh assured his Pakistani counterpart Shaukat Aziz that all steps would be taken to punish the perpetrators of the Samjhauta Express train blast last night, in which at least 66 people were killed, and provide assistance to the injured and bereaved.

The Pakistan Prime Minister, who called up Dr Singh this evening, was told that the focus at this time was on humanitarian aspect.

Dr Singh declared India's abhorrence for this heinous terrorist act and reaffirmed commitment to do everything possible to ensure that the perpetrators of the incident were punished.

The Prime Minister also conveyed his condolences to Mr Aziz on the death of Pakistani nationals in this tragedy and said steps would be taken to provide all possible assistance for the injured and the bereaved.
