Opposition forces adjournment of AP House

Hyderabad, Feb 19: The Andhra Pradesh Assembly adjourned for a brief period today as the Opposition parties stalled the proceedings.

As soon as the House assembled for the day, Speaker K R Suresh Reddy announced he was disallowing motion given notices of by the TDP and CPI(M) on irrigation projects, the TRS on GO610 and the BJP on renumerative prices of agriculture products.

Even as the Speaker pleaded with the members to resume their seats as they could raise these issues during the discussion on Budget, the Opposition members were up on their feet shouting slogans against the government.

The Speaker then adjourned the House for 15 minutes.
