NHRC seeks factual report on Padder's death from J
New Delhi, Feb 19 (UNI) The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has sought within two weeks a factual report from the Jammu and Kashmir Government on the reported fake encounter death in the state.

Taking suo motu cognisance of newspaper reports on the death of carpenter Abdul Rehman Paddar in an alleged fake encounter, the Commission said if contents of the report are true, they raise the serious issue of human rights violation.
According to the newspaper report, four special operation group (SOG) personnel gunned down Padder and passed him off as a Pakistani Commander of the Lashker-e-Toiba in the intervening night of December 8 and 9.
The report said the four policemen arrested were part of the team which allegedly killed Padder in a fake encounter in Ganderbal of the Kashmir valley.
