Missing passports cause 'panic' among intelligence agencies
New Delhi, Feb 19 (UNI) Police have launched a 'special investigation' into the missing of six passports of those killed in the Samjhauta Express blasts.
Six passports could not be found among the 'materials' recovered collected so far from the burnt train, according to intelligence sources.
Though apprehensions remain that they may have been destroyed in the fire caused by the blasts, officials have expressed serious concern over the 'disappearance' as it could be used by 'vested interests', said an Intelligence Bureau official.
''The missing passports could be used by people with nefarious designs who were involved in the blasts.'' Pilfering them could be part of the gameplan, he said while adding that special investigations into the 'disappearance' were being conducted.
Stressing that the IB had sounded an 'alert' on the blasts, the official said efforts were also afoot to ascertain the exact place where the deadly 'suitcases' were planted on the train though the likely place is the Old Delhi Railway Station as there was no 'stoppage' till the blasts took place.
