New Delhi, Feb 19 (UNI) The Delhi Police today said a low intensity explosive was used to trigger the blasts in the Delhi-Attari Samjhauta Express early this morning in which 66 people, mostly Pakistani nationals, were killed and 13 injured.

A senior police official said a team of the Anti-Terrorism Squad of the Special Cell visited Diwana village near Panipat in Haryana, the site of the blasts, and collected samples.

Initial investigations by the team, headed by ACP Ravi Shanker, indicated that a low intensity explosive was used in the blasts.

It was a timer-operated device, he said.

''Our team is collecting data there as we have a specific interest in this case. We are trying to check any links of this morning's blasts with the 2005 Diwali blasts,'' the official said.

Also accompanying the team is a bomb disposal squad to assist investigators.

The bi-weekly peace train, that connects India with Pakistan, had left the Delhi Railway Station at 2240 hrs last night for Attari near the Indian-Pakistan border.
