Bangalore, Feb 19 (UNI) Simmering differences in the Karnataka Youth Congress Committee (KYCC) have come to the fore, with leaders including its Vice-President S Mohanadass Hegde and General Secretary Dr Vijayanand Kashyappanavar demanding leadership change in the State unit.

In a letter addressed to AICC President Sonia Gandhi, a copy of which was released to the media here, the leaders alleged that the functioning of the party youth wing, headed by Mr Dinesh Gundu Rao, MLC, was totally ineffective on all counts. Discipline, coordination and measures to strengthen the party have been totally neglected by the leadership.

They alleged that the age criteria had been given a go by, with a lot of members above 35 years occupying key positions. Mr Rao had been continuing as President since the last eight years, violating the age norm.

Seeking the party high command to take up immediate measures to infuse new life into the KYCC, they demanded a membership drive from booth level to State level and immediate steps to remove overaged members from the KYCC.
