Jewellery shop burgled of 60 kg silver

Kolhapur, Feb 19 (UNI) Thieves made away with 60 kg silver, worth about Rs six lakh, from a shop in Hupari town of this district.

Police said burglars broke into the shop of Sagar Piraji Sutar at Talandge in Hupari and made away with the loot in the wee hours yesterday and the theft was discovered when the owner opened the shop later in the day.

The thieves had carried away a safe containing the silver ornaments from the shop, police said.
