Import fee on beer country liquor reduced in HP
Shimla, Feb 19 (UNI) The Himachal Pradesh Government today decided to reduce import fee on bear from existing Rs 3 to Rs 2 per bottle and country liquor from Rs 7 to Rs 5 per proof litre in the state.
The decision was taken at a cabinet meeting, presided by Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh here.
The Cabinet approved the new excise policy which aimed at increasing excise revenue and decided to switch over to the new system of allotment of excise vends by inviting individual applications so as to create competition.
The Cabinet decided to allot two biswas of land in rural areas and one biswa in urban areas to houseless persons having annual income not more than Rs 10,000 or having income equivalent to BPL families or those belonging to BPL families.
The cabinet also approved the amendment in the Town and Country Planning Act incorprating the provisions of constructing barrier free access to disabled in new constructions by constructing lifts and ramps for the smooth movement of the disabled.
The Cabinet approved Government Guarantee to HP State Electricity Board to raise loan of tune Rs 117 Crore for constructiion of Sawra-Kuddu Hydro Electric Project.
