IIT Roorkee hosts Isis B-Plan contest in partnership with Geodesic
Mumbai, Feb 19 (UNI) IIT Roorkee in partnership with Geodesic today kick started its nationwide contest 'Isis- The BPlan Competition' to endorse the spirit of entrepreneurship and promote next-generation entrepreneurs in India.
An initiative of the Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC) of IIT Roorkee, this unique contest is open to students of all recognised Universities across India. Participants have to submit an original business plan by Feb 25 which will be screened by a panel of judges comprising established entrepreneurs, VC's, mentors, incubators and experts from the relevant fields, a release said.
The winners of 'Isis- The BPlan Competition' named after the Egyptian Goddess of creation, will not only be awarded cash prizes but also be given incubation facilities to nurture their business plan and access to mentor panels and venture capitalists.
The 10 best plans will be selected for the final presentation round to be held on March 17. The three winners will be awarded cash prizes worth Rs 50,000, Rs 25,000 and Rs 15,000, respectively, and the option of incubating their companies with STEP (Science and Technological Entrepreneurially Park) at IIT Roorkee for a period of one year.
Commenting on the contest Prof P K Garg, Staff Advisor EDC, IIT Roorkee said ''This contest is a re-iteration of our ongoing endeavor to infuse the entrepreneurial spirit amongst the present-day student community, which we believe will usher in the next wave of growth in the Indian economy.
