Home Minister leaves for Panipat

New Delhi, Feb 19 (UNI) Home Minister Shivraj Patil has left for Panipat in Haryana, where 64 people were killed and several injured in a fire on Samjhauta Express early today.

Mr Patil is accompanied by Home Secretary V K Duggal and Director General National Security Guard J K Dutt.

A National Disaster Response Force team has also been sent to assist the state government in dealing with the situation.

National Security Guard's bomb detection squad has also been sent to the accident site.
