Encroachments on bank of Mithi: Dr Somaiya
Mumbai, Feb 19 (UNI) Former BJP MP Dr Kirit Somaiya today said encroachments and land grabbing activities were once again on the rise, near the 21 km length of Mithi river in the city, which was overflooded in 2005.
Talking to mediapersons, Dr Somaiya said ''As many as 23 dirty nallas have restarted throwing polluted water while garbage dumping could be seen at 39 places.'' He demanded that State Government provide security and take strong action against the culprits.
He also expressed concern about the delay in the execution of the second phase of the Mithi river development.
