Dr Jakhar outlines sports achievements

Bhopal, Feb 19 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Governor Balram Jakhar today informed the Assembly that a Women's Hockey Academy and National Sailing School had been established in the state.

''Malkhamb (an ancient Indian martial art form) has been accorded the status of a state-level sport. The government has decided to set up a Men's Hockey Acdemy and a sports village,'' he said in his address to the House on the inaugural day of the budget session.

Sports grounds would be prepared in villages with 4,000-5,000 population and coaches appointed.
