CPI condemns burning of Samjhauta Express
New Delhi, Feb 19 (UNI) The Communist Party of India (CPI) today strongly condemned explosions in the Pakistan bound Samjhauta Express near Panipat in Haryana early today.
The party's Central Secretariat in a press statement here has stated initial reports indicate firebombs were planted in two bogies that have been burnt completely and almost all the passengers in these coaches and a few security personnel have died.
The statement says it seems terrorists who planted the firebombs had hatched a conspiracy to derail the ongoing peace process between India and Pakistan and create communal frenzy in our country.
The party sent its heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims of the tragedy. It urged the government to order a through probe in the matter and all possible angles of conspiracy be investigated and conspirators be dealt with severely, the statement added.
