Blindfolded demo against black marketing

Madurai, Feb 19 (UNI) Members of the Consumer Protection Council (CPC) today resorted to a novel protest by blindfolding themselves, demanding action on kerosene black marketeers.

The members staged a demonstration at the District Collectorate premises, blindfolded and covering their mouth and ears with hands .

The CPC functionaries alleged that the administration had failed to take action even after 240 litres of kerosene was seized and handed over to the officials. They also charged that from a particular civil supplies shop at Anna Nagar, kerosene was being smuggled to the black market.

They submitted a memorandum demanding early action.
