Chennai, Feb 19 (UNI) Renewing her plea for fresh elections to Chennai Corporation, AIADMK General Secretary J Jayalalithaa today declared that her party would move the Supreme Court and not rest until fresh elections were held to the Corporation in view of large scale violence.

In a statement here, she said after Mr Justice Ibrahim Kalifullah, in the split verdict, ordered repoll to 99 wards on the ground that elections in these wards held in October last were marred by the violence, while a third judge, Mr Justice P K Misra, also concurred with Mr Justice Kalifullah and came down heavily on the government.

Even after the third judge's verdict, violence was let loose in the repoll held yesterday, she alleged and demanded fresh polls for all the 155 wards in the Corporation.

''The AIADMK will move the Supreme Court on this issue and will fight till democracy is restored and those found guilty are punished,'' she said.

After Mr Justice Misra's verdict, State Election Commissioner D Chandrasekaran, City Police Commissioner Latika Saran and Additional Commissioner of Police S R Jangid had lost the moral right to continue in office, she said and demanded their resignations.

She said Chief Minister M Karunanidhi, who is in-charge of Police and and Local Administration minister Mr M K Stalin should also be held responsibile for the violence in the elections held in October last and yesterday and added the DMK government should resign for ''burying democracy''.
