Union Minister vows help to retain Palakkad Division
Palakkad, Feb 18 (UNI) Minister of State for External Affairs E Ahamed today said he would extend all possible help to retain the Palakkad Railway Division.
Inaugurating a waste processing unit for Palakkad Municipality here, he stressed on setting up such units in all Municipalities and Corporations.
The plant constructed at a cost of Rs 2.40 crore, with Central assistance, would initially process ten tonnes of waste and convert it scientifically into bio-manure.
The garbage is presently dumped in a 8.5 acre land at Piruvusala.
The Integrated Rural Technology Centre at Mundur has provided the technicial aid for setting up the plant.
Kerala Health Minister P K Sreemathi and former Union Minister O Rajagopal were present on the occasion.
