SPO killed, 3 ultras surrender in J and K
Srinagar, Feb 18 (UNI) A Special Police Officer (SPO) of Jammu and Kashmir police was killed while three militants surrendered in the state overnight.
A police spokesman said SPO Anchal Singh, posted at the residence of a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader at Bhaja in Doda district was killed due to bullet injury. However, the spokesman did not said who fired upon the SPO.
He said a militant was arrested alongwith huge cache of arms and ammunition at Jugran in south Kashmir.
A security force search party recovered one kg of explosive, one wireless set, five grenades and 200 rounds of ammunition from a hideout at Muri forest in Poonch. However, no one was arrested.
Official sources said three militants surrendered alongwith their arms and ammunition at Sopore in north Kashmir today.
