NLFT releases CPI(M) activist after 39 days
Agartala, Feb 18 (UNI) A ruling CPI(M) activist and leader of the Tripura Ganamukti Parishad (GMP) were released from the captivity of banned outfit, NLFT, after 39 days.
Phalendra Reang, the leader of GMP, which is a frontal tribal organisation of CPI(M), was abducted by National Liberation Front of Tripura (NLFT) cadres at gun point from his residence at Ashapurnaroaja Para area in Dhalai district on January eight, police said here today.
However, following continuous pressure from the security forces, the cadres were forced to release Mr Reang yesterday, police added.
