Guj Cong accuses State Govt of conniving with black-marketeers
Ahmedabad, Feb 18 (UNI) The Gujarat Congress has accused the State Government of ''conniving with black-marketeers, thereby leading to a rise in groundnut prices''.
Congress spokesperson Shaktisinh Gohil told reporters here today that earlier governments in the state used to maintain a buffer stock of groundnut crop after making purchases through cooperative organisations.
''Whenever, there was a rise in the groundnut price, the government would check the prices through the buffer stock,'' Mr Gohil said. However, this year, there was no buffer stock because of a connivance between government and blackmarketeers, he alleged.
