Congress slams NDA for its demand of floor-test

Ranchi, Feb 18 (UNI) The Congress party today criticised the Opposition NDA in Jharkhand for creating pressure on the Governor on the demand for a trial of strength on the floor of the Hosue before the budget session begins on March 2.

The NDA leaders at a high-level meeting here last night had demanded Governor Syed Sibte Razi to ask Madhu Koda-led UPA government to prove its majority on the floor of the House after induction of controversial and suspended Forward Bloc MLA Bhanu Pratap Shahi as a cabinet minister.

Congress general secretary Shailesh Sinha said the NDA was creating pressure adding that the BJP, major partner of the NDA, had the tendendcy of creating controversy over the functioning of the constitutional institutions.

The NDA leaders demanded that the Governor should initiate steps to end the political controversy.

Leader of the Opposition Arjun Munda said the Koda government was reduced to minority after the Forward Bloc withdrew support to the government.
