CAIT forms committee to monitor implementation of MPD 2021

New Delhi, Feb 18 (UNI) In an attempt to ensure ''proper implementation of the 2021 Master Plan, the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) today formed the 'Research and Trade Development Board' and 'Special Advisory Board' comprising distinguished people from various sectors.

''The utter failure of previous Master Plans, which led to large scale turmoil in Delhi last year, has led to the formation of the boards.... Both the board will work like a watchdog to keep an eye on the implementation of the master plan,'' CAIT Secretary General Praveen Khandelwal said.

He said the Advisory Panel comprises town planner R G Gupta, Architects S C Jain and Gian P Mathur, specialists on DDA matters A K Dev, specialist on civic matters and former Deputy Mayor of Delhi Satish Chandra Khandelwal, lawyer Mahinder Rana and Vastu expert Khushdeep Bansal.

Trade leaders Murli Mani and Satish Garg have been nominated as board President and General Secretary respectively.

The CAIT Secretary General said the Board will make all efforts to ensure implementation of the MPD 2021 within the stipulated time.

''It will also suggest plans and programmes to the Government from time to time. The Board will also carry out surveys and other research work in case the Government Agencies fails to do so,'' he added.

''The Board will maintain pressure on the Government to prepare 17 Zonal Plans and about 250 lay out plans, which are essential to give practical shape to the Master Plan,'' he said.
