Agitation continues against CWDT award in Cauvery basin Districts
Mysore, Feb 18 (UNI) The farmers and other organisations in Cauvery basin districts of Mandya, Mysore and Chamarajanagara continued their agitation against the final verdict of Cauvery Water Dispute Tribunal.
In Mandya District, agitators continued Rasta Roko at Maddur, K R Pet, Srirangapatna and Mandya. However, vehicular movement on State Highway between Bangalore-Mysore were not affected.
The relay hunger strike by Cauvery Hitarakshana Samithi members continued at Silver Jubilee park in Mandya.
In Mysore, the Mysore News Papers Distributors Association has decided to stop distribution of Tamil Papers for a week from tomorrow. Meanwhile, the Cauvery Kriya Samithi led by its President V Srinivasa Prasad staged dharna at K R Circle.
In Chamarajanagar District, Janata Dal (United) State President Somasekhar and others staged Rasta Roko in the border of Mandya and Chamarajanagara Districts. Addressing the members he urged the State government to file a review petition against the final award.
