91 militancy affected families given compensation in north Kashmir
Srinagar, Feb 18 (UNI) The Jammu and Kashmir government has sanctioned ex-gratia relief in favour of 91 militancy-affected families in the frontier district of Kupwara, an official spokesman said.
He said the District level Screening Committee (DSC) took up about one hundred cases of militancy victims in Kupwara district of north Kashmir.
After thorough discussion with the representatives of police, Army and revenue agencies, the committee decided to pay ex-gratia relief in favour of 91 cases.
He said in two death cases, Rs one lakh each have been sanctioned while compensation was also paid to seven injured persons and 82 persons whose property was damaged in militancy related incidents in the district.
