12 houses gutted in Kargil
Kargil, Feb 18 (UNI) About twelve houses were gutted in a devastating fire at Kaksar in Ladakh region of the Jammu and Kashmir early hours today, official sources said.
They said the fire broke out in a house at Kaksar near the Line of Control (LoC) in Kargil sector of Ladakh region late last night.
Sources said the fire spread to adjoining houses before Army and locals could control the leaping flames.
About a dozen houses were gutted and some animals were killed in the fire, they said adding there was, no loss of human life.
The fire was brought under control this morning jointly by the Army personnel deployed on the LoC and locals.
