Wockhardt opens 50-bedded ICU hospital in Bangalore

Bangalore, Feb 17 (UNI) The Wockhardt hospital group, running a cluster of super-speciality hospitals across the country, today launched its first ICU and Community Care 50-bedded hospital here.

Speaking after the inauguration, Dr Lloyd Nazerath, Head, Wockhardt Hospitals, Bangalore, said the hospital included a 12-bed new generation intensive care unit with precision bed side monitoring system and various resuscitative devices, including modern ventilators.

He said that taking note of the grave shortage of well equipped ICU beds across the city, Wockhardt hospital had decided to set up ICUs at various locations in the city, following similar protocols of treatment as that of Wockhardt's two main hospitals in the city.

Two more such ICU and Community Care centres, equipped with modern operating room to perform secondary care surgeries and providing all diagnostic services, would be set up.

Dr Nazareth said Wockhardt had set up a dedicated women's health care centre. Due to its quality health care facilities, the hospital was attracting patients from European countries and the Middle East.
