Wiproites throng grand finale of Spark-2007

Bangalore, Feb 17 (UNI) Thousands of employees of IT major Wipro, along with their families, today thronged Sree Kanteerava Stadium in the city to attend the grand finale of Spark-2007, a three-month-long employee engagement activity.

The activities came to a ceremonial end, with intensity, camaraderie and team spirit seen at its best in this annual event.

The event was attended by company Chairman Azim Premji and former Indian Cricket Captain Kapil Dev, who gave away prizes and felicitated a number of achievers.

Sparks, with its myriad of activities involving employees across locations like Bangalore, Gurgaon, Hyderabad, Chennai, Kolkata, Cochin and Pune, was initiated with the idea of aligning the entire organisation with the values cherished by the company. The competitions included quiz, sports and cultural programmes.

Speaking at the finale, Mr Premji said Spark was a movement and not an event. ''This event will be a trendsetter for continuous endeavour of doing better than this time,'' he added.
