UFBU to go on nation-wide strike from March 28
Jamshedpur, Feb 17 (UNI) The UFBU, an amalgamation of nine bank trade unions, has announced to march towards Parliament on March 12 and an all India two day strike from March 28 press their four-point charter of demands.
The decision of the agtiational programmes was taken at the United Forum of Bank Union (UFBU) meeting at Mumbai on February 10, official sources said here today.
All India Bank Employees Association, a constituent of UFBU, president Rajen Nagar here said the forum had demanded immediate recruitments to fill up the one lakh vacancies in the banks all over the country.
He further added that the forum had asked for the introduction of compassionate appointments, pension second options and to stop outsourcing in the banking sector.
He said UFBU would go for an nation-wide indefinite strike from May 3 if their demands were not fulfilled.
Mr Nagar said Central Bank of India would go for indefinite strike from February 22 in protest against issuing chargesheet against its 7,000 employees adding that UFBU had extended its support to the agitation.
