Three killed, three injured in Aurangabad

Aurangabad, Maharashtra, Feb 17 (UNI) Three persons were killed and three others injured when a speeding truck collided head-on with a car today.

Police said the victims were travelling from Parli to Malegaon in the car and the truck was on its way to Beed when the vehicles collided with each other near Chitegaon bus stand under the jurisdiction of Chikhalthana police station.

The deceased were identified as Sheikh Javed Sheikh Moinoddin Qureshi (34) Sheikh Ansar Qureshi Saudagar Qureshi (35) and Sheikh Tayyab Sheikh Amir (55).

The injured have been admitted to the Government Medical College and Hospital at Aurangabad.

The truck driver is absconding, police said.

The Chikhalthana police have registered an offence under sections 337, 338 and 427 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and sections 134/1 of the motor vehicle act against the driver of the truck, police added.
