Sugar prices ease on lack of fresh demand
Mumbai, Feb 17 (UNI) Sugar prices eased on lack of fresh demand, Bombay Sugar Merchants' Association traders said today.
Small grade sugar fell by Rs two per quintal on poor demand while medium grade sugar rose by Rs five per quintal due to higher advice.
Ex-mill small and medium grade sugar slashed by Rs five and Rs 10 per quintal respectively on sustained heavy selling pressure by stockists.
Following were the spot wholesale rates per quintal: Small grade: Rs 1,452/1,487, Medium grade: Rs 1,474/1,565, Ex-mill: Small grade: Rs 1,425/1,445, Medium grade: Rs 1,440/1,485.
