Soyameal exports surge 41 pc in Apr-Jan

Indore, Feb 17 (UNI) Total exports of soybean meal touched 31.7 lakh tonnes in the first 10 months of this financial year as against 22.4 lakh tonnes during the same period last year, showing an increase of 41 per cent.

Exports of soyabean meal during January alone was 5.35 lakh tonnes as against 4.63 lakh tonnes in the corresponding period last year, Mr Rajesh Agarwal, Coordinator of Soyabean Processers Association of India (SOPA) said here today.

The export figures on the Oil year (October-September) basis showed an increased performance by the trade.

During October'06 to January'07 the exports stood at 17.36 lakh tonnes as compared to 15.02 lakh tonnes during the same period previous year, he added.
