Skeletal remains of infants found in MP town

Ratlam, MP, Feb 17 (UNI) Skeletal remains of infants and foetuses were found today on a missionary hospital's premises in this district headquarters.

Following a tip-off, mediapersons rushed to the hospital and began searching barren area behind the operation theatre. Polythene packets containing bones were found and the authorities were alerted.

Subsequently, a search operation unearthed a heavy quantity of buried skeletal remains.

Superintendent of Police Satish Saxena, Sub-Divisional Officer (Police) Arun Rawal, Civil Surgeon K C Pathak and Forensic Science Laboratory official Alok Mathur rushed to the site.

''The bones are being sent for analysis,'' said Mr Saxena.

The hospital's Dr P William told UNI that prenatal diagnostic tests and abortion were not undertaken there. ''The discovery is a conspiracy against me,'' the physician alleged.

''Only tests will reveal how old the remains are,'' said children's specialist R J Kaushal.
