PIL to recover salary, perks from disqualified UP MLAs
Lucknow, Feb 17 (UNI) A PIL was submitted before the Lucknow Bench of Allahabad High Court today seeking order for recovery of salary and allowance from 37 ministers and MLAs holding the rank of ministers who were declared disqualified from Uttar Pradesh Assembly with effect from August 27, 2003.
The petition filed by a journalist Jagdish Narain Shukla was likely to be taken up for hearing on Monday to decide if it could be entertainted.
The PIL urged the court to stay the operation and implementation of decisions taken by the present government since August 29, 2003 till date, during pendency of the writ petition.
The court has also been urged to declare null and void all decisions taken by these 37 ministers, chairmen of different corportions and MLAs between August 28, 2003 and February 16, 2007.
The petition was filed with the reference to the Supreme Court's verdict on February 14, disqualfying 13 MLAs with effect from August 27, 2003.
