One killed, 30 grievously injured in Jallikattu

Tiruchirapalli, Feb 17 (UNI) One person was killed and 100 were injured, at least 30 of them grievously, at the annual Jallikattu (bull taming) held at Kothappar village, near here, this evening.

The event was organised as part of the Pongal celebrations.

The seriously injured were admitted to the Government Headquarters Hospital and various private hospitals in the city.

Those with minor injuries were treated by the spot medical team.

The identity of the deceased was not immediately known.
