NCP flays Congress government in Meghalaya
Shillong, Feb 17 (UNI) Terming the ruling Congress-led Meghalaya Democratic Alliance(MDA) as 'anti-people', the main opposition Nationalist Congress Party(NCP) alleged that it was not concerned with the state's development.
''The MDA government is more concerned with power struggle rather than concentrating on developmental activities in the state,'' Meghalaya's NCP President Dr W R Kharlukhi told reporters here yesterday.
His statement came in the backdrop of the ongoing political bickering between Chief Minister J D Rymbai and his predecessor D D Lapang over the chief ministership for the past eight months.
''How can this government perform when they indulge in power struggle,'' he quipped.
Dr Kharlukhi said that MLAs, who frequently demand change in leadership, should also pledge that they are not in favour of the ministerial berth for themselves when they change their leader.
