Leopard killed by poachers for pelt in Kalesar
Jagadhari, Haryana, Feb 17: The caracass of a skinned leopard was found in the Kalesar National Park in Yamunanagar district of Haryana yesterday.
Police have registered a case in Khijrabad police station against unidentified people and begun investigations.
According to reports, some villagers who saw the caracass in bushes in the National Park informed the police.
The police found that the skin had been removed from the dead body of the animal. It sent the caracass for post mortem, which revealed that the animal had died due to bullet injuries.
The poachers had hunted the animals for its valuable pelt, police said.
